This the third ship to carry the name HMS Zealous was a destroyer. Built by Cammell Laird, laid down 05-May-1942, launched 28-Feb-1944, and commissioned 09-Oct-1944. On commissioning joined the Home Fleet. Carried out Russian convoy escort, Norwegian carrier raids and cruiser patrols until May 1945. When Zealous in company with Zephyr, Zest and Zodiac went to Denmark to assist with its liberation. Transferred to the Israeli Navy 15-Jul-1955 and renamed Elath. Sunk by Egyptian Styx missile, off Sinai, 21-Oct-1967. Won the Battle Honours: Norway 1945 and Arctic 1945.
