This the first ship to carry the name HMS Venus was a fifth rate, 36-gun, ship.

Built by Okill of Liverpool, launched 11-Mar-1758, 128ft 6in long, 36ft wide and of 722 tons builders measurement.

Reduced to 32-guns Mar-1792.

Renamed HMS Heroine 1809.

Used for harbour service from 1817.

Sold 22-Sep-1828.

Won the Battle Honours: Quiberon Bay 1759, St. Lucia 1778 and First of June 1794.
