HMS Venerable (1902) BB  (3rd)

This the third HMS Venerable was a London Class (1902) battleship.

Laid down in January-1899 at Chatham Dockyard and completed Nov-1902.

She served with the Mediterranean Fleet from 1902 to 1909, & refitted at Chatham 1909. Then service to the Atlantic Fleet until 1912 when she joined the 5th Battle Squadron.

In late 1914 and early 1915 she conducted bombardments of the Belgian coast. Joined the Dardanelles force in May 1915, after which she became part of the force blockading the Austrian Navy in the Adriatic.

She was sold 04-Jun-1920 and later resold and broken up in Germany.

Won the Battle Honours: Belgian Coast 1914-15 and Dardanelles 1915.
