HMS Sunfish (1937) SS  (2nd)

    
This the second ship to carry the name HMS Sunfish was an S Class submarine, one of the second group sometimes known as the Shark Class.

Built at Chatham Dockyard, laid down 22-Jul-1935, launched 30-Sep-1936, and commissioned 02-Jul-1937.

Transferred to Soviet Navy as V1 30-May-1944.

Bombed and sunk in error by RAF aircraft 27-Jul-1944 while on passage to Murmansk with loss of all aboard. 

Won the Battle Honours: North Sea 1940 and Norway 1940-41.
