This the second ship to carry the name HMS Scorpion was an 8-gun, fireship.

Originally the Borryan, bought Jan-1771, 94ft 6in long, 27ft wide and of 294 tons builders measurement. Renamed HMS Etna and converted to a fireship.

Renamed Scorpion 10-Aug-1771 and re-rated a sloop.

Sold 27-Dec-1789 in North America.
