This the first ship to carry the name HMS Royal Oak was a second rate,
76-gun, ship-of-the-line. Built at Portsmouth Dockyard, launched 1664, and of 1,021 tons builders measurement. Burnt by the Dutch at Chatham, 13-Jun-1667. Won the Battle Honours: Lowestoft 1665, Four Days' Battle 1666 and Orfordness 1666.
