This the first ship to carry the name HMS Royal George was originally HMS Royal James, renamed 1714.

A first rate, three deck, 100/90-gun ship-of-the-line. Built at Portsmouth Dockyard, launched 1675, 163ft long, 45ft 6in wide, and of 1,486 tons builders measurement.

Renamed HMS Victory 1691.

Underwent Rebuild or Great Repair at Chatham 1695.

Renamed Royal George 27-Oct-1714.

Renamed HMS Victory again 09-Sep-1715.

Burned by accident 1721.

Dismantled Apr-1721.
