HMS Proserpine (1898) CC  (7th)

    
This the seventh ship to carry the name HMS Proserpine was a 3rd Class, Protected Cruiser.

Built at Sheerness Dockyard, laid down Mar-1896, launched 03-Dec-1896 and completed 1898.

On completion went to the America & West Indies Station 1898-1901, then returned to the UK at Chatham. Then served on the East Indies Station 1904-12, Mediterranean 1913. Returned to the UK and joined the 3rd Fleet 1913-14, 7th Channel Cruiser Squadron 1914.

To the Mediterranean, East Indies and Egypt 1914-18 and finally the Red Sea 1918.

Sold at Alexandria 1919 and broken up at Genoa.

Won the Battle Honour : Suez Canal 1915.
