HMS Pomone (1774) (1st)

This the first ship to carry the name HMS Pomone was a fifth
rate, 44-gun, ship. Originally French, captured 23-Apr-1774 by a squadron off Ile de Bas. 159ft long, 42ft wide and of 1,239 tons builders measurement. Armed with 18 x 32pdr carronades, 26 x 24pdr and 2 x 9pdr guns. Broken up Dec-1802.
