This the first ship to carry the name HMS Plymouth was a 60-gun, ship.

Built by Taylor of Wapping, launched 1653, 140ft long, 34ft 6in wide and of 752 tons builders measurement (bm).

Rebuilt at 1705 as 900 tons bm and 64-guns.

Foundered 11-Aug-1705.

Won the Battle Honours: Porto Farina 1655, Santa Cruz 1657, Lowestoft 1665, Four Days' Battle 1666, Orfordness 1666, Sole Bay 1672, Texel 1673 and Barfleur 1692.
