Wooden Screw Gunvessel 4-gun

    
This the fourth ship to carry the name HMS Pioneer was a 4-gun, wooden screw gunvessel.

Built at Pembroke Dock, launched 19-Jan-1856, 200ft long, 30ft 6in wide and of 868 tons builders measurement. Armed with 1 x 110pdr, 1 x 60pdr and 2 x 40pdr guns.

Took part in the Royal Fleet Review 1856.

Broken up1865 by Marshall of Plymouth.

Won the Battle Honour: China 1856-60.
