This the fifth ship to carry the name HMS Modeste was a
14-gun, wooden screw corvette, Built at Devonport Dockyard, launched 23-May-1873, 220ft long, 37ft wide, of 1,405 tons builders measurement and displacing 1,970 tons. Armed with 14 x 64pdr guns. Sold 08-Jan-1888.
