HMS Leviathan was the last of six Majestic Class (1948) light fleet
carriers to be laid down.
Although launched 07-Jun-1945. Completion was suspended in May-1946, and she was never completed. Her boilers were used to replace those of the Colossus Class (1944) carrier HMS Venerable whose boilers had been badly damaged in an engine fire in 1968. Scrapped Faslane 1968
