This the third ship to carry the name HMS Jupiter was a coal hulk.

Originally HMS Forth, a 5th rate, 44-gun ship.

Built at Pembroke Dock, launched 01-Aug-1833, 159ft long, 42ft wide and of 1,215 tons builders measurement (bm).

Conversion to a screw frigate completed 21-Jan-1856, with an increased tonnage of 1,228 tons bm.

Renamed HMS Jupiter Dec-1869 and used as a coal hulk.

Sold 04-Aug-1883.
