This the second ship to carry the name HMS Jackal was a 14-gun, cutter.

Bought 1779, 73ft long, 25ft 6in wide and of 187 tons builders measurement.

Handed over to the French at Calais 27-Nov-1779 by mutineers.

Became a privateer and renamed Boulogne.

Recaptured 1781.

Captured 11-Apr-1782 by American frigate Deane.
