HMS Iphigenia (1892) CC  (4th)

    
This the fourth ship to carry the name HMS Iphigenia was a 2nd class protected cruiser.

Built by London & Glasgow Co of Govan, laid down 1890, launched 19-Nov-1891, and completed 1892.

On completion went into reserved at Portsmouth 1892-97. Then to the China Station 1897-1900. Returned to the UK 1900-03. Back to the China Station 1903-06. Used for special service 1906.

Converted to a minelayer at Chatham 1906-07. Into reserve at Portsmouth 1907-08 and the Nore 1909-12.

Joined the 2nd Fleet Minelaying Squadron 1912-14, then the Dover Squadron 1914-15. Served at North Russia 1915-16 and the White Sea 1917.

Prepared as a blockship 1918 and expended at Zeebrugge 23-Apr-1918.

Won the Battle Honour: Zeebrugge 1918.
