HMS Impulsive (1938) DD  (1st)

    
This the only ship to carry the name HMS Impulsive was an I Class, destroyer.

Built by White, laid down 10-Mar-1936, launched 01-Mar-1937, and commissioned 29-Jan-1938.

Was in the Mediterranean at the start of WW2 and immediately ordered to the UK and the Home Fleet.

Early 1939 joined the reformed 20th Destroyer Flotilla with Icarus, Ivanhoe, Isis and the other E Class Destroyer, minelayers.

Took part in the Norwegian Campaign, and spent most of the war in arctic waters.

Sold 22-Jan-1946 for breaking up.

Won the Battle Honours: Norway 1940, Dunkirk 1940, Arctic 1941-44, Atlantic 1942-43, English Channel 1944 and Normandy 1944.
