This the fourth ship to carry the name HMS Hero was a second rate, 91-gun ship-of-the-line, completed as a screw ship.

Built at Chatham Dockyard, launched 15-Apr-1858, 234ft 6in long, 55ft 6in wide and of 3,148 tons builders measurement.

Armed with 1 x 100pdr, 34 x 8in, 4 x 7pdr, 10 x 40pdr, and 30 x 32pdr guns.

Sold 20-Jun-1871.
