HMS Gloucester (1745)  (6th)
4th Rate 50-gun

This HMS Gloucester the sixth to carry the name was a fourth rate 50-gun ship.

Built by Whetstone & Greville of Rotherhithe, launched 23-Mar-1945, 141ft long, 4-ft wide and of 986 tons builders measurement.

Within the first two years of her career, she had captured a Spanish and French vessel.  

On 14-Oct-1747, as part of Admiral Hawke's squadron, she took part in the action against the French off Ushant, which was added to her battle honours.

Retained for harbour service 1758.

Broken up at Sheerness which was completed by 13-Feb-1764.

Won the Battle Honour: Ushant 1747.
