HMS Foxhound (1935) DD  (6th)

    
This the sixth ship to carry the name HMS Foxhound was an F Class, destroyer.

Built by John Brown on the Clyde, laid down 21-Aug-1933, launched 12-Oct-1934, and commissioned 06-Jun-1935.

On completion formed the 6th Destroyer Flotilla (with her sister ships), with the Home Fleet.

Took part in the King George V Silver Jubilee Fleet Review 16-Jul-1935.

The F Class Flotilla was renumbered the 8th in May 1939.

Took part in Norwegian operations including the 2nd Battle of Narvik. Then from mid-1940 was with Force H. Moved to the eastern Fleet Mar-1942.

Returned home Mid-1943. Was with Western Approaches Command until 08-Feb-1944 when she was transferred to the Royal Canadian Navy.

Won the Battle Honours: Atlantic 1939-41, Narvik 1940, Norway 1940, Mediterranean 1941 and Malta Convoys 1941.
