This the ninth ship to carry the name HMS Express is a P2000
Class, fast patrol boat. Built by Watercraft and completed by Vosper-Thornycroft, launched 26-May-1988 as Loyal Express for the Royal Naval Auxiliary Service. Commissioned into the Royal Navy when that Service was disbanded 1994 and renamed HMS Express. Used as a training patrol boat for Wales University Royal Navy Unit (UNRU). Based at Penarth Marina in Cardiff Bay. In service Apr-2008.
