This the first ship to carry the name HMS Doris was a fifth rate, 36-gun, ship.

Built by Cleveley of Gravesend, launched 31-Aug-1795, 142ft long, 37ft wide and of 913 tons builders measurement.

Wrecked 21-Jan-1805 at Quiberon Bay.

Won the Battle Honours: 'Chevrette' 1801 and Java 1811.
