This the sixth ship to carry the name HMS Devonshire was an
Armoured Cruiser. Built at Chatham Dockyard, laid down 25-Mar-1902, launched 30-Apr-1904 and completed 24-Mar-1905. On completion served with the 1st Cruiser Squadron in the Channel Fleet 1905-06, then the Atlantic Fleet 1906-07, transferred to the 2nd Cruiser Squadron with the Atlantic Fleet 1907-09. Joined the 3rd Fleet at Devonport 1909-11, 3rd Cruiser Squadron 2nd Fleet 1913-14. On the outbreak of WW1 joined the Grand Fleet 1914-16. Went to the America & West Indies Station 1916-19. Returned to the UK at Devonport 1919-1920 and paid off 1920. Sold 09-May-1921 and broken up at Barrow Oct-1923.
