HMS Daring (1932) DD  (5th)

    
This the fifth ship to carry the name HMS Daring was a D Class, destroyer.

Built by Thorneycroft, laid down Jun-1931, launched 07-Jan-1932, and commissioned 24-Nov-1932.

At the start of WW2 Daring (with the other D Class ships), was on the China Station, ordered initially to the Mediterranean, then back to home waters as part of 5th Flotilla with the Home Fleet, Scapa Flow.

On 18-Feb-1940 torpedoed and sunk by U-23 off Duncansby Head, Orkney Islands.
