This the first ship to carry the name HMS Canada was a third rate, 74-gun ship-of-the-line.

Built at Woolwich Dockyard, launched 17-Sep-1765, 170ft long, 47ft wide and of 1,605 tons builders measurement.

Used as a prison ship from Mar-1810.

Broken up at Chatham Nov-1834.

Won the Battle Honours: St. Kitts 1782, The Saints 1782 and Donegal 1798.
