This the third ship to carry the name HMS Camperdown was one of
five Admiral Class (1888) battleships. Built at Portsmouth Dockyard, laid down in Dec-1882, launched 24-Nov-1885 and completed in 1889. She was in the Mediterranean from 1889-90, and was Flagship for a brief time. Then moved on to the Channel as Flagship 1890-92. Returned to the Mediterranean 1892. On 22-June-1893, during Fleet manoeuvres off Tripoli, collided with and sank HMS Victoria. After repair and refit spent the rest of her time at home, either in Reserve or as a coastguard ship until 1908. Went to Harwich 1908-11 as a submarine accommodation ship. Sold 11-Jul-1911.
