HMS Caesar (1944) DD  (4th)

    
This the fourth ship to carry the name HMS Caesar was a Ca Class, destroyer leader. As destroyer leader she had slightly reduced armament to allow the increased complement and working space needed to control a flotilla.

Built by John Brown shipyards on the Clyde, launched 14-Feb-1944 and commissioned 05-Oct-1944.

In Nov-1944, formed the 1st Division of the 7th Destroyer Flotilla as part of the covering force of convoy JW62.

At the end of WW2 the flotilla went to the East Indies. Then into Reserve 1946.

Mid 1950's modernised and rebuilt for ASW duties.

Arrived at Blyth 06-Jan-1967 for breaking up.

Won the battle Honour: Arctic 1944.
