HMS Argonaut (1782)  (1st)

This the first ship to carry the name HMS Argonaut was a third rate, 64-gun, ship-of-the-line.

Originally French, captured 19-Apr-1782 in the West Indies. 166ft long, 45ft wide and of 1,452 tons builders measurement.

Used for harbour service from 1797. Broken up at Chatham Feb-1782.
