This the third ship to carry the name HMS Ardent was a third rate, 64-gun, ship-of-the-line.

Built by Pitcher of Northfleet, designed as an Indiaman, launched 09-Apr-1796, 161ft long, 46ft wide and of 1,422 tons builders measurement.

Used for harbour service from 1812.

Broken up Mar-1824 at Bermuda.

Won the Battle Honour: Camperdown 1797 and  Copenhagen 1801.
