HMS Active (1780)  (4th)
5th Rate 32-gun

    
This the fourth ship to carry the name HMS Active was a fifth rate, 32-gun, ship.

Built by Raymond of Northam, launched 30-Aug-1780, 126ft long, 36ft wide and of 697 tons builders measurement.

Captured the French ship Pomone 29-Nov-1811, which was commissioned into the Royal Navy as  HMS Ambuscade.

Wrecked in the St Lawrence River, Jul-1796.

Won the Battle Honour: Trincomalee 1782.
