HMS Winchester (1698) (2nd)

This the second ship to carry the name HMS Winchester was a 48
gun, fourth rate, ship-of-the-line. Built by Wells of Rotherhithe, launched 17-Mar-1698, 130ft long, 34ft 6in wide and of 673 tons builders measurement (bm). Rebuilt at Plymouth 1717 as 711 tons bm. Hulked Feb-1774. Breaking up at Chatham completed 05-Jul-1781.
