This the second ship to carry the name HMS Whitby was the name ship of the Type 12 Whitby Class of frigates.

Built by Cammell Laird, launched 02-Jul-1954, commissioned 10-Jul-1956.

Sold 30-Oct-1978 and broken up at Queenborough.
