HMS Tonnant (1798)  (1st)

This the only HMS Tonnant to serve in the Royal Navy was a third rate, 80-gun ship-of-the-line.

Captured from the French at the Battle of the Nile, 01-Aug-1798, 194ft long, 52ft wide and of 2,281 tons builders measurement.

Saw action at the battle of Trafalgar where she was badly damaged, with 26 of her crew killed and 50 wounded. (see: Fleets after the Battle).

Broken up Mar-1821.

Won the Battle Honour: Trafalgar 1805.
