This the eleventh ship to carry the name HMS Thetis was a
Triton Class submarine. Built by Cammell Laird, launched 29-Jun-1938. While on trials in Liverpool Bay, foundered 01-Jun-1939 with only 4 of the 103 people on board surviving. Salvaged Nov-1939, re-commissioned Apr-1940 as HMS Thunderbolt. Depth Charged and sunk by Italian corvette Cicogna, north of Sicily 13-Mar-1943.
