The second HMS Southampton was a fifth rate 32-gun frigate.

Built by Inwood of Rotherhithe, launched 05-May-1757.

Saw much action and was awarded four battle honours.

She is thought to be the first true frigate ever built.

Wrecked off the Bahamas 27-Nov-1812.

Won the Battle Honours: 'Emeraude' 1757, Belle Isle 1761, First of June 1794 and St. Vincent 1797.
