3rd Rate 64-gun 

    
This the third ship to carry the name HMS Somerset was a third rate 64-gun, ship-of-the-line.

Built at Chatham Dockyard, launched 18-Jul-1748, 160ft long, 42ft 6in wide, and of 1,436 tons builders measurement.

Wrecked 12-Aug-1778 near Cape Cod.

Won the Battle Honours: Louisburg 1758 and Quebec 1759.
