Gun-brig 12-gun

    
This the first ship to carry the name HMS Snipe was a 12-gun, gun-brig.

Built by Adams of Bucklers Hard, launched 02-May-1801, 80ft 6in long, 23ft wide and of 185 tons builders measurement. Armed with 2 x 32pdr guns and 10 x 18pdr carronades.

Completed as a dockyard mooring lighter Feb-1816.

Broken up May-1846.
