Wooden Screw Corvette 21-gun

    
This the eighth ship to carry the name HMS Scout was a 21-gun, wooden screw corvette.

Built at Woolwich Dockyard, launched 30-Dec-1856, 200ft long, 40ft 6in wide, of 1,462 tons builders measurement, and displacing 2,187 tons. Armed with 20 x 8in and 1 x 68pdr guns.

Broken up at Chatham 1877.

Won the Battle Honour: China 1860.
