This the eighth ship to carry the name HMS Roebuck was a fifth rate, 42-gun, ship.

Built at Portsmouth Dockyard, launched 05-Apr-1704, 115ft long, 31ft 6in wide and of 494 tons builders measurement.

Dismantled 1725, and rebuilt 1733 at Woolwich Dockyard as 124ft long, 33ft 6in wide and of 598 tons builders measurement.

Sunk Apr-1743 as a breakwater at Sheerness.

Won the Battle Honour: Velez Malaga 1704.
