This the second ship to carry the name HMS Renown was a fifth rate 30-gun ship.

Originally the French ship Renommee, captured Sep-1747 by HMS Dover, 127ft long, 35ft wide and of 669 tons builders measurement.

Broken up at Woolwich May-1771.
