Composite Screw Corvette 12-gun

    
This the seventh ship to carry the name HMS Rapid was a 12-gun, composite screw corvette.

Built at Devonport Dockyard, launched 21-Mar-1883,  200ft long, 38ft wide and displacing 1,420 tons. Armed with 2 x 6in, and 10 x 5in guns.

Reduced to a hulk 1906.

Used as a coal hulk and renamed C 7 1912.

Renamed HMS Hart 1916 and used as an accommodation ship.

Sold 1948 at Gibraltar.
