This the second ship to carry the name HMS Milne was the M
Class, destroyer leader. As destroyer leader she had slightly reduced
armament to allow the increased complement and working space needed to
control a flotilla. Built by Scott's, laid down 24-Jan-1940, launched 30-Dec-1941, and commissioned 06-Aug-1942. Transferred to Turkish Navy 27-Apr-1959 and renamed Alp Arslam. Spent most of her war service in the arctic on Russian convoy duties. To the Atlantic and convoy support group work for most of 1943. From 1944 back to the arctic with the 3rd Destroyer flotilla. Sold to Turkey 16-Aug-1957 and renamed Kilicala Pasha. Paid off 1970. Won the Battle Honours: Arctic 1942-44, North Africa 1942 and Atlantic 1942-43.
