HMS Marlborough (1914) BB  (5th)

This the fifth HMS Marlborough was one of four Iron Duke Class battleships.

Built at Devonport Dockyard, launched 24-Nov-1912, and completed 1914.

She served with the Grand Fleet throughout WW1.

At Jutland was struck by a torpedo which caused flooding of the compartments immediately forward of 'A' boiler room. She continued in action and shortly afterwards scored hits on the Koenig. However later that night the 'A' boiler room bulkhead showed signs of giving way so Marlborough  withdrew at reduced speed and eventually reached the Tyne for repairs.

After the war she served in the Mediterranean and Black Sea from 1919 to 1926. Then with the Atlantic Fleet until 1929.

Sold 27-Jun-1932.

Won the Battle Honour: Jutland 1916.
