HMS Katherine (1664)  (5th)
2nd Rate 84-gun

    
This HMS Katherine was the fifth vessel to bear the name. 

Built at Woolwich Dockyard as a 2nd Rate, three-decker, with an establishment of 84-guns during war at home, 82-guns during war overseas and 74 guns in peacetime. 

She had a tonnage of 1,003 builders measurement, 153ft long and 40ft wide. Launched 26-Oct-1664.

She was also known as Royal Katherine from 1696.

She was rebuilt in 1702, and renamed HMS Ramillies 18-Dec-1706.

Another rebuild followed at Portsmouth in 1749 and her tonnage was increased to 1,689 builders measurement.

Wrecked on 15-Feb-1760 off Bolt Head.

Won the Battle Honours: Lowestoft 1665, Four Days' Battle 1666, Orfordness 1666, Sole Bay 1672 and Texel 1673.
