HMS Hyacinth (1900) CC  (5th)

    
This the fifth ship to carry the name HMS Hyacinth was a 2nd Class, Protected Cruiser.

Built by London & Glasgow of Govan, laid down 27-Jan-1897, launched 27-Oct-1898 and completed 03-Sep-1900.

On completion undertook boiler trials with the Cruiser Training Squadron 1900-03. Then to the East Indies Station 1903-06. Returned to the UK and went into reserve 1906. Back to the East Indies Station as Flagship 1907-11. Returned to the UK and refitted at Chatham 1911-12. Joined the 3rd Fleet 1912, then went to the Cape Station as Flagship 1913-19.

Returned to the UK and paid off at Portsmouth 1919.

Sold 1923.
