This the second ship to carry the name HMS Highlander was an H
Class (1940) destroyer. Built by Thorneycroft, for the Brazilian Navy (Jaguaribe), laid down 28-Sep-1938, bought 04-Sep-1939, launched 16-Oct-1939, and commissioned 18-Mar-1940. Took part in Norwegian operations 1940, then the evacuations from France. Assisted in the sinking of U-32 off Ireland. Then from 1941 went to the North Atlantic for escort duty. Sold 27-May-1946. Won the Battle Honours: Norway 1940 and Atlantic 1940-45.
