This the third ship to carry the name HMS Glowworm was a G
Class, destroyer. Built by Thornycroft, laid down 15-Aug-1934, launched 22-Jul-1935, commissioned 22-Jan-1936. At the start of WW2 was with the 1st Destroyer Flotilla in home waters. Took part in the Norwegian Campaign, where 08-Apr-1940 she sank after ramming and damaging the German ship, Admiral Hipper, off Norwegian coast. Won the Battle Honours: Atlantic 1939, Norway 1940 and 'Admiral Hipper' 1940.
