This the sixth ship to carry the name HMS Fox was a sixth rate 24-gun, ship.

Originally HMS Nightingale, built at Chatham Dockyard, launched 16-Dec-1702, 93ft long, 24ft 6in wide and of 251 tons builders measurement.

Captured 26-Aug-1707 by the French and renamed Rossignol.

Recaptured Dec-1707 by HMS Ludlow Castle and renamed HMS Fox.

Rebuilt at Deptford 1727as 375 tons builders measurement.

Broken up at Deptford Jan-1737.
