HMS Diadem (1898) CC  (4th)

    
This the fourth ship to carry the name HMS Diadem was a 1st Class, Protected Cruiser.

Built by Fairfield of Govan, laid down 23-Jan-1896, launched 21-Oct-1896, and completed 19-Jul-1898.

On completion served with the Channel Fleet 1898-1902, then refitted 1902-03. Served on Particular Service 1904. Went into reserve 1905. Then went to the China Station 1905-07. Returned to the UK and reserve 1907-09. Refitted 1909 then joined the 4th division 1909-13. Paid off, but used as Stokers' Training Ship Portsmouth 1914-18.

Sold 09-May-1921.
