This the third ship to carry the name HMS Coventry was a sixth rate, 28-gun, ship.

Built by Adams of Beaulieu, launched 20-May-1757.

Captured by the French in the Bay of Bengal, 10-Jan-1783.

Won the Battle Honours: Quiberon Bay 1759 and Trincomalee 1782.
